Sugar Substitution Options For Keto Creamers
You can use any sugar substitute you wish in this keto coffee creamer recipe. Here are a few of our favorites:
Tip: If you are sensitive to the taste of sugar substitutes, blend two or three. Combining different sugar substitutes provides a taste closer to sugar. Or, use BochaSweet, which is the clear winner in taste tests.

Our favorite combinations for our keto peppermint mocha creamer:
- 60 drops liquid stevia + 60 drops liquid monk fruit
- ½ cup BochaSweet (whisk into the hot water and cocoa powder, so it dissolves easily)
- ½ cup allulose plus 30 drops liquid stevia
Dairy-Free Keto Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer
To make this keto coffee creamer dairy-free, swap out the heavy cream for coconut cream. You can find cans of full-fat coconut cream at your local grocers or order them online. It is becoming more readily available and is the perfect substitute for heavy cream in many recipes.
Coconut cream has a slight sweetness to itself, so you may find you need less sweetener.

I created Keto Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer for my husband's sweet tooth over the holidays. We had many memories of sitting together enjoying a cup of coffee with peppermint mocha creamer or a cup of hot cocoa topped off with some peppermint creamer. A few years into our keto diet, I decided to create a keto-friendly alternative to help with those holiday cravings.
In a nutshell, our strategy is to help you make a low sugar holiday possible without feeling deprived. We understand that many people face health issues such as diabetes that don't allow them to partake in sweets any longer. Eating these sweets can cause damage to their body. If this describes you or a loved one, know that we're passionate about helping people just like you. We create somewhere between 60-120 new keto-friendly recipes each year that are perfect for people with diabetes. Our goal is to help you create a life you love to live in. And, we think that includes something sweet 🙂
Family Idea: Sugar Free Peppermint Hot Cocoa
Mix up our keto hot cocoa mix, and then once it's mixed, add a tablespoon of this keto peppermint mocha creamer for a peppermint twist to traditional hot chocolate. You'll find the link to the recipe for our cocoa mix below.
This combination of our cocoa mix plus our peppermint creamer is a tried and true family favorite. It's what you'll find in our travel mugs as we make our annual trip to the Christmas Tree Farm local to us. We love the warm, creamy smoothness of the creamer mixed with our keto hot cocoa mix.
We also love this drink on Christmas Eve as we gather and have our annual scavenger hunt for the teens. In the end, they snuggle into some new Christmas pajamas, and we all sip on some hot cocoa and play a new board game. What are your Christmas traditions? Share with us in the comments.

Candy says
Anxious to try this creamer. How long can you store this in the refrigerator?
Janelle says
Hi Candy - great question. Use the expiration date on the heavy cream you use as your guide. 😁 Let us know how you like it!
