This Vanilla Keto Coffee Creamer Recipe has zero carbs per tablespoon serving. And comes in at just 30 calories per tablespoon! You may need to add two 🙂 It's the perfect way to perk up your morning cup of coffee.
Actually, let's call it a FAT BOMB for your coffee. If you are looking to bump up the fat even more, blend a quarter cup (4 tablespoons) of high quality mct oil into the mixture.
Around here, we love coffee. A nice rich, steaming cup of coffee first thing in the morning is just the thing to get the day started right. But, sometimes... we want to indulge and dress up our coffee.
This is why I created this keto friendly coffee creamer with a delicious Vanilla flavor. Maybe vanilla is to boring, but it's the flavor I come back to time and time again. There's just nothing like vanilla flavored coffee hitting my taste buds. It's warm, it's comforting... it's perfection in a cup. Anyone else with me??
The best part about this keto recipe is that it's fast and easy to make. All you need to do is mix this up in a mason jar and slap a lid on it! Then, enjoy drizzling it in your coffee throughout the week.
How Long Will It Last?
Check the expiration dates on your heavy whipping cream to determine how long this will last stored in the fridge. You will want to store your creamer in a tightly sealed container. I prefer a mason jar with a lid for storage. When it's time to use it, I grab a tablespoon measuring spoon and spoon it into my cup.
You can also make this dairy free very easily. I've linked the recipe for this version right below the recipe card.
What Other Flavors Can I Make?
This is a great base recipe for all kinds of different flavors. I'll link the other options for keto coffee creamer at the bottom of this post. So far, I have a pumpkin spice keto coffee creamer , cafe latte keto coffee creamer and a few dairy free options. You can also use my keto hot cocoa mix to make a mocha if you're looking to add some chocolaty goodness to your cup.
If you're looking for a specific flavor I haven't listed, please comment and ask. It's fun to get creative and experiment with a new flavor.
Your New Favorite Coffee Creamer
The perfect keto vanilla coffee creamer should be rich, thick and oozing with vanilla flavor.
Don't ya think?
This recipe makes twenty-eight one tablespoon servings. If you want a smaller batch you can easily cut it in half. But, it will store for awhile. Check the date on your heavy cream to see how long you can safely store it.
Why Use Bocha Sweet?
Our sugar substitute of choice is BochaSweet and there's good reason for this!
BochaSweet is extracted from the Kabocha pumpkin which has been a staple in the Japanese diet for centuries. Consuming BochaSweet on a daily basis helps to support longevity and supports healthy blood sugar levels.
Even better? It tastes almost exactly like real sugar. There's no thin flavor or metallic aftertaste. I think most of us are looking for something that tastes amazing because only a full, satisfying taste is going to work over the long-term.
So, if we are going to go to all the work to make these keto parfaits so we can please our tastebuds AND stick to our keto diet. Well, we want the result to taste GOOD not... just 'meh' and unsatisfying. For this reason plus the health benefits, we reach for BochaSweet every time.
Other Keto Friendly Sweetener Options
You can use any sweetener you have on hand with this recipe. Some of our favorites are Lakanto's Monk Fruit & Erytheritol blend, allulose and stevia.
If you aren't using Bocha Sweet, for the best taste we recommend blending multiple sweeteners until you're happy with the results.
Some people will want their coffee creamer very sweet and others will want just a subtle sweetness. As you figure out your perfect "sweet spot", start low and add more as needed. It's easy to add more sweetener, but if you put too much in at the beginning, it's more of a hassle to figure out how much of the other ingredients to add to save your batch of creamer.
And, no one likes throwing ingredients away!
If I were personally making this creamer without Bocha Sweet, I would use: 1 Tablespoon Lakanto Monk Fruit Blend, 1 Tablespoon Allulose and 10 drops of liquid stevia.
Comment and let us know the sweetener combination you used and how you like the results! Readers like you will love hearing your stories.

Other Keto Creamer Recipes
Once you've learned how to make a basic keto coffee creamer, you can start experimenting with different flavors and ingredient combinations. Here's a collection of the recipes on my website that are creamers or that would work for creamers.
Keto Coffee Mix-Ins
What about other mix-ins for your coffee that are keto friendly? Maybe you're in the mood for a little Bailey's in your coffee...but the store bought stuff is packed full of sugar. No problem...
Need some Kahlua that's not packed full of sugar to add into that Bailey's coffee? You'll be amazed at how easy it is to make it yourself with a few simple ingredients.
You can experiment with different bases for this sugar free coffee liquor including rum, brandy, vodka and even whisky! Kahlua is traditionally made with rum. Do what tastes good!
Or maybe you'd like to dress up your coffee with our keto hot cocoa mix. This dry mix can be stirred into coffee or you can make yourself an indulgent drink.

Real vanilla extracts contain alcohol. So do vanilla bean pastes, but they have less of the alcohol taste. Maybe try that.

Tara, how is this zero carbs? Used a different sweetener, same nutritional breakdown. I’ve even used a pure vanilla extract from Domican Republic which is about as pure as one could get still comes up to 2.2g carb when I enter recipe to MyFinessPal

What kind of cream are you using? You want the heavy whipping cream that will have zero or few carbs on the label. There is around .4 carb per tablespoon of heavy whipping cream and that's the one you want.
So... it's zero carb...because it's under a half carb total per serving 🙂
A true zero carb coffee creamer would be something like MCT oil blended into your coffee.
DENISE says
How can I keep the creamer from having a strong alcohol taste?
Tara Wright, CHC, MBA says
Use a different vanilla extract. A high quality extract that's pure vanilla and not imitation 🙂

In the past I’ve tried homemade coffee creamers and for some reason ( when I add vanilla extract) I taste the alcohol in it. Am I doing something wrong or am I using the wrong one?
Tara Wright, CHC, MBA says
Get a high quality, pure vanilla extract. Avoid the imitation extracts.

This is GREAT! To beef it up a little but I also added:
1T Protein powder
1 t Cinnamon
1t MCT oil

This recipe is GREAT. To beef it up just a bit I also put in 1T of protein powder and 1t of MCT oil.

This is great! One of the things I miss most in my low-carb (Type 2 Diabetes) world is coffee with vanilla creamer on a crisp morning (or any other time of the day, really). I tried a store bought sugarfree, low-carb creamer and couldn't get past the odd texture/flavor. I had Monkfruit Sweetener on hand today, so I used that to make your AMAZING creamer just minutes ago. OUTSTANDING!!
Thank you!!

I'm so happy to hear you love it 🙂
Having a GOOD creamer makes a world of difference in your coffee, right?? 🙂
