There's just something about cheeseticks that are fresh, hot and gooey that are oh...so...satisfying.
Am I right?
Fortunately, on a keto diet, low carb cheese is allowed!
While looking through the artisian cheese section of our local grocer (Hy-Vee), I came across this stuff called Bread Cheese.
Curious...I bought it and took it home and followed the package instructions on cooking it.
Actually... my husband was so excited that he kind of took over in the middle of that first batch.
As it came out of the pan, he had zero patience on tasting it.
Let me tell you, this is GOOD.
It's so easy and makes the perfect keto snack.
It's just about football season and this one is on my personal football keto snack list for game day!
Your New Favorite Keto Snack
So where do you find this "Bread Cheese" stuff?
We found ours at our local grocer (Hy-Vee) in the artisan cheese section.
Amazon does carry it if you can't find it at your local grocer or get them to carry it for you.
Or maybe you want to give it a try before requesting it to be stocked!
What is Bread Cheese Anyhow?
There's no “bread” in bread cheese.
Thank Goodness!!
According to this article on Bon Appetit, bread cheese is a finnish squeaky cheese known by the names of juustoleipa or leipajuusto.
Cheesemakers in America have changed the process of making the cheese but the taste and application remains similar.
You can fry it, grill it, skewer it…
I'm looking forward to trying this a plethora of different ways.
